Rebbetzin Rus Kunstadt a”h

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rebbetzin Rus Kunstadt a”h at Shaarei Tzedek Hospital. She was 91.

The Rebbetzin was the wife of Rav Elchonon Moshe Kunstadt, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Kol Torah in the Bayit Vegan neighborhood of Yerushalayim. Rav Elchonon Moshe was the author of Be’er Elchonon and a noted marbitz Torah.

Born in Germany on 13 Iyar תרפ”ו to her parents, Rabbi and Mrs. Uri Shraga Beifus, the Rebbetzin later immigrated to Eretz Yisroel and, when she reached marriageable age, married her husband, Rav Elchonon Moshe, fulfilling her dream of wedding a true talmid chochom with a potential for greatness.

The Rebbetzin was a woman of valor and a righteous woman who supported her husband so that he could pursue his harbotzas Torah, teaching thousands of talmidim.

She leaves behind doros yeshorim, including children and many descendants. Her children include Rebbetzin Partzovits, wife of Rav Tzvi Partzovitz, rosh yeshiva at Yeshivas Mir. Her brother, Rav Yaakov Beifus of Rechasim, is the author of Lekach Tov. Her sister, Rebbetzin Tovah Kessler a”h, was the wife of Rav Simcha Kessler zt”l, rov of Modi’in Ilit.

The levaya was held at Yeshiva Kol Torah and kevurah took place on Har Hamenuchos.
