Upon consultation with its rabbinic leadership, Matzav.com issued the following statement regarding the current situation in Eretz Yisroel:
In light of the intensifying situation in Yerushalayim and across Eretz Yisroel, Matzav.com is calling upon Jewry across the world to stop for a moment amidst their Yom Tov revelry and recite a kappitel of Tehillim for the security of Am Yisroel.
It is vital to reiterate the foundation principle that our security comes ultimately from Hashem, G-d Himself. Rabbos machshavos belev ish, while man may have many thoughts and designs, atzas Hashem hee sakum, it is Hashem’s design that prevails.
The most important advocacy we can do at this time is to turn to Hashem, to recognize that teshuvah tefillah utzedakah ma’avirin es ro’a hagezeirah, repentance, prayer and acts of charity are the keys to our salvation.
With the recent tragedies, this is a period of somber reflection for the Jewish people. May the challenging developments in the world around us remind us of how fragile our existence truly is, and how totally dependent we are on the protective embrace of the One-and-Only Shomer Yisroel, the Heavenly Guardian of the Jewish People.
