Thursday evening, the engagement of Rav Yitzchok Schwartzman, R”M at Bais Medrash Govoah of Eretz Yisroel/Lakewood East, was announced. Rav Yitzchok recently lost his wife, Rebbetzin Kaila Rivka Schwartzman a”h, who passed away in October.
Rebbetzin Kaila Rivka, who was 41, was a daughter of Rav Chaim Shlomo Leibowitz, rosh yeshiva at the Ponovezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak.
Rav Yitzchok is a son of Rav Yaakov Eliezer Schwartzman, rosh yeshiva of Bais Medrash Govoah in Eretz Yisroel/Lakewood East. Rebbetzin Kaila Rivka left behind 13 orphaned children.
Rav Yitzchok has now gotten engaged to his wife’s brother’s wife, Rebbetzin Bluma Leibowitz, the almanah of Rav Chizkiyahu Yosef Leibowitz zt”l, a son of Rav Chaim Shlomo Leibowitz. Rav Chizkiyahu Yosef passed away Shavuos time in 2011.Rebbetzin Bluma has three children. Thus, together, the chosson, Rav Yitzchok, and his kallah have 16 children.
The chosson and the kallah are son-in-law and daughter-in-law, respectively, of Rav Chaim Shlomo Leibowitz, having been married to his daughter and son, who both, tragically, passed away.
Meanwhile, Rav Leibowitz, a grandson of the Kamenitzer rosh yeshiva, Rav Boruch Ber Leibowitz zt”l, remains hospitalized in serious condition. All are asked to continue davening for Rav Chaim Shlomo ben Tzaita Leah.
